Hexi Wash Still CIP system

Allen Associates has started to receive orders for a new state-of-the-art wash CIP system.

The company, which has installed wash CIP units at over 30 malt distilleries, will now supply the all new, technologically advanced HEXI unit.

The initial design, which was developed by Dr. Bill Allen along with Diageo at Ben Rinnes Distillery, comprised a shroud for applying the caustic to the still pan (or kettle).  Following feedback from some distillers in 2012, it was decided to try and improve on the process, which in turn led to the development of the HEXI. 

The HEXI system, which uses nozzles to apply the caustic as opposed to the shroud, is seen as a major improvement on the original system.
