Overview
The Nordic region has emerged as a vibrant hub for premium craft spirits, with producers embracing local identity, sustainability, and innovation. Allen Associates (HPE) Ltd has supported two standout projects in this space: Kringler in Norway and Faer Isles Distillery in the Faroe Islands.

For both clients, Allen Associates delivered a comprehensive package of process design, distillery layout, equipment supply, and commissioning support - helping them transition from concept to fully operational distilleries with confidence.

Project Details

KRINGLER, NORWAY
Kringler aimed to create a dual-purpose craft site that would combine brewing and distilling at altitude in the Norwegian countryside. Key deliverables included:

• Process Design
  Complete design of the distillation process for both malt whisky and white spirits, including wash handling, pot still operations, column distillation and cooling systems.
• Equipment Supply
  Allen Associates provided bespoke copper pot stills, spirit safe, condenser, and associated tanks and pipework, fully sized and designed for the building footprint and operational goals.
• Design Coordination
  Close collaboration with local contractors and Kringler’s team ensured that the system was integrated into the building with minimal rework.

FAER ISLES DISTILLERY - FAROE ISLANDS
Located in one of the most remote whisky-producing regions in the world, Faer Isles required a distillery that was compact, robust, and capable of world-class spirit quality under challenging climatic conditions. Allen Associates delivered:

• Distillery Design
  Full process design for whisky and gin production,
• Logistical & Remote Support
  As on-site support was logistically limited, Allen Associates worked through a remote-first model, including 3D scans, video walkthroughs, and virtual commissioning guidance.
